Under normal circumstances you are required to carry SR22 insurance for a minimum of 3 years. You should know exactly how long you will need this insurance when you go to court for your hearing.

This is considered high risk insurance. The state has determined that in order to ‘re-acquaint’ those offenders with the driving public they would need to be assured that they would carry a specific amount of coverage due to the increased risk that these very same DUI offenders have the potential to re-offend and possibly cause bodily harm or property damage.
